Our kids need to know we’re listening
I have been soberly reminded by the news and the terrible happenings in our world that as a provider, mom, multi-hat wearer, I need to make sure I “hear” my kids. Yes, as parents, we love our kids, take care of them, protect them. But do we always “hear” them. I know I get busy with life trying to keep the fort in one place, and there are days when I’m just beat. I have to be intentional about asking them how their day went and if all is okay. It’s important. I don’t want anything to be said when they’re older about my not really “getting” them, or understanding them and their needs. So, this post is a reminder to all of us “world go rounders” to set time aside and engage our kids. You know, see what’s going on. I refuse to lose my boys working for things…
