How to avoid the pitfalls of distraction, procrastination, and downright time-wasting

I haven’t blogged in a bit. I’ve been tackling life and rolling with the punches. As I sit here in the middle of grading, I realize that I could get more done if I would watch out for the distractions that come, my own procrastination (because I do work well last minute), and the art of time-wasting (insert anything we do that in the end has no direct effect on our present or future). Truth be told, I’d be living the dream now if I had paid more attention to the thieves that come to stop me from being excellent. Truth is, so would you.

“I can do this later.” “I will handle that tomorrow.” Sound familiar? Well, let’s pledge to stop allowing ourselves to get off track. Sure, no one notices because we always finish on time. But, how great would it be if we finished early?! Food for thought: What is your hold up? You don’t have to share unless you want to.

Steps to having more time to chase your dreams:
1. DEFINE YOUR GOALS
2. REVISIT THEM
3. BE AWARE THAT INTERRUPTIONS HAPPEN AND PREPARE TO TACKLE THEM
4. RESOLVE TO STAY ON TRACK
5. KEEP GOING

Yes, distractions will come, but we don’t have to allow them in our space. Let’s chase our dreams and be efficient together!

Life is unpredictable. Do It Anyway!
